During the Second World War, Loudon served as a private in the Royal Australian Army Medical Corps and after his service moved to work in Sydney, exhibiting at the Macquarie Galleries. That same year he travelled with the ballet company to London where Sir Rex de Charembac Nan Kivell successfully exhibited his paintings at the Redfern Gallery. Loudon Sainthill's work has been offered at auction multiple times, with realized prices ranging from 222 USD to 14,186 USD, depending on the size and medium of the artwork.
